About the Parsha Preps & Plans Photo Album Favorite Sites Our Prayer Family Tree Timeline Brochure
A lot of planning and preparation took place a couple years before the "big day".  Everything from picking a date, to finding the perfect give-away.  I've listed some steps that I took in preparation for our simcha.

Booking the Date

Hotel

Andrew's Hebrew Birthday falls the end of October. Because there is a large number of out of town guests expected, we chose a holiday weekend - Thanksgiving.

A block of rooms has been set aside at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick.  When you call to make your reservation, be sure to mention the Bar Mitzvah.

Organization

Weekend Activities

I like to keep things organized and in one place.  I also like to do everything on the computer. I found a GREAT software package that met my needs called, B'Nai Mitzvah.  I am able to keep track of EVERYTHING. Another tool I used was Bar Mitzvah Planner. Log in as a guest and use "mindy golden" as the user name and "magic" as the password.

A full weekend is planned for our guests:

Friday PM: dinner for out of town guests

Saturday AM: Shabbat Services begin at 8:45 AM

Saturday PM: Bar Mitzvah Celebration

Sunday AM: Brunch for out of town guests

Bar Mitzvah Celebration

The Highland Park Conservative Temple & Center put together a nice booklet that has a timeline in it. I've included it here.
