A Little Bit About Me

2/4/59 - 5/16/81: I was born in Portsmouth, VA on 2/4. I lived there all my life graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in June 1977. After graduation, I went away to college. I chose the University of South Carolina because it wasn't too far away from Portsmouth and it was close to my sister in Atlanta, GA. I graduated from USC in May '81.

6/81 - 8/84: I was recruited straight out of college by Western Electric - a division of AT&T. I accepted the job and moved to New Jersey. Here I met many friends and undiscovered family members. Before I left Portsmouth, my aunt and uncle told me that in 2 years, I will return with my fiancee. Well, sure enough, 2 years went by and in May of 1983, I brought Marty home to meet the Portsmouth family.
6/81 - present: I have worked for the same company since 1981. However, it has changed names and ownership several times along the way. On 1/1/84, DIVESTITURE! I no longer worked for Western Electric but the CSO - Central Services Organization - a consordium owned by the Bell Operating Companies. This name was quickly changed to Bell Communications Research, Bellcore for short. Over 10 years went by and in 1997, Bellcore was sold to SAIC ( Science Applications International Corp). In 1999, the name was once again changed. I currently work for Telcordia Technologies.
8/84 - 2/90: Marty and I were married in Portsmouth, VA. We bought a house in Highland Park, NJ. Kind of a fixer-upper. We loved the old homes and the challenges they presented. So, we sent to work on fixing up the house - knocking out walls, sheetrocking, painting and decorating. Soon, in November 1986, Andrew arrived. A few years later in February of 1990, Stacey joined the family.

	Plants - I love flowers and plants. My next door neighbor has "turned" me on to developing a nice garden. I don't have a lot of space, but I try to do the best I can
	Swimming - I love to watch my kids swim. Both are excellent swimmers and it gives me a pleasure to watch them
	Web Development - I have recently started to develop several personal web pages. It's a hobby, but I love it.
	Computer Development- Both professionaly and as a hobby. I do a lot of work for Stacey's school, Bartle

	Bartle Elementary School Home Page - I volunteered to develop and maintain this web site for Bartle.
	Bartle Elementary School History of Highland Park Web Site - I am helping the teachers at Bartle upload the files for the web.
	Bartle School Friend Finder - Student directory that is published once a year. I do the typing, setup, and coordination
	Bartle Teacher Holiday Fund - This is a fund for teachers that parents donate money to. Teachers receive a gift card that tells them families have donated money in their name. I do the typing, setup, and coordination for this also.
	Ad Hoc Committee for Communication - School Board Sub-Committee to make recommendations on how to improve communications between school and parents
	Developed web sites for University Swimming Association, Raritan Valley Stingrays
